- Emily and Austin's own cabin, which they host themselves
About the project
Oliver's Outlook is our own cabin, a traditional Ward Cedar Home set back in the trees in Norway, named for Oliver, our terrier and blue heeler mix. We host its guests ourselves. Our first guests booked within a few days of the listing going live, and hundreds have stayed since.
The cabin keeps its character: exposed spruce tie beams, white cedar trim and cathedral ceilings. The decorating is cozy cabin comfort to match, with plaid curtains, a leather sofa, woodland pillows, and carved pines on the lower-level bedroom wall.
Outside, the yard is set up for guests: a fire pit with chairs, a picnic table and grill, and in the warmer months a volleyball net with volleyball and badminton rackets.
The finished home
- Three bedrooms, including a ladder loft with two twins and a private lower level with its own living room, bedroom, laundry and half bath
- A covered front porch, fire pit, picnic table and grill
- A large front yard for volleyball, badminton, horseshoes and whiffle ball
- A short walk to the top of the hill for views of Mount Washington and the Appalachians
